So I should start of by saying this is the only Korean BBQ I have had in LV. Am I a Korean BBQ connoisseur? No. Am I smart? Yes. So for me personally, I see no other reason to galavant around looking for good Korean BBQ when I know Hobak is FIREEEEE. Luckily I have 2 foodie friends who lead me to this gem. (Savorsincity and Ryu1075- check out their profiles on insta!).
3 things right off the bat I loved when I came here for the first time; our server, the decor, AND the fact they cook it for you. Restaurant is really cute and definitely casual, sort of industrial meets trendy NYC. Service is always important to me and I hate that I forgot her name, but she made the experience for me. Most importantly, they cook the meat for you! So you don’t butcher it, and you know you all have. Whether is was hot pot, Korean BBQ, or fondue, you know you have killed that meat at some point. So at Hobak, meat integrity stays intact and you my friend don’t have to work. I don’t know about you but I certainly am not thrilled to go out and pay to eat while cooking my own food…no thanks.
The meat at Hobak is said to be of the highest quality (so more expensive then other places in the area) and although I don’t have much to compare it to, it truly is divine. So we did the Hobak Beef Combo and it comes with:
Angus Brisket, Angus Boneless Short Ribs or Angus Rib Eye +
Marinated Skirt Steak or Aged Short Ribs + Bean Paste Stew +
Steamed Egg + Vegetables + Cheddar Cheese + Rice Pop Ice Cream
The marinated aged short ribs (Kalbi) is the show stopper! But I frankly feel that all the meats are necessary- lol. The progression the meal takes is perfection. I really love the steamed egg too and I know it is just a steamed egg but.. it’s not. My friend puts the cheddar on it and it is a perfect match made in heaven. Hobak also gives you the sushi rice for the brisket, make yourself a little beef sushi. All of the sides are great from the salad (dressing is so good) to the pancakes. You also gotta get that corn cheese…with EXTRA cheese. Trust. Lets just say, I could eat here weekly.
They end this scrumptious little experience with the Rice Pop Ice Cream which is SO FRIGGIN GOOD. Not too sweet but sweet enough. Great ice cream flavors like green tea, pumpkin, strawberry, and your classic vanilla etc. I hear no other Korean BBQ in LV gives you those tasty little treats– just saying. So people, if it’s not broken don’t fix it… and I dare you to try this place and say it’s not DELICIOUS. Enjoy some foodie fun below.
