Whether it is juicing, smoothies, detoxes, teatoxes, etc, I am always on the hunt for something convenient but at the same time nourishing for my body. Yes I know it may be hard to digest that I actually like to or even accomplish eating healthy. I mean, you didn’t really think I consumed hot dogs, cheese-pulled grilled cheeses, and pizza all day? This is how I can actually enjoy all those cheat meals, staying pretty healthy most of the week. What might be even more amusing to those who often see my Instagram content is that my father is a Holistic Practitioner and I was raised in a pretty healthy and organic household (just a little backstory).
I love all kinds of food and recently I had an opportunity to check out Salad Power’s juice. Like many of you I am sure, I have tried numerous brands of juices at the store. I also love me a good 13$ juice from the trendy juice place down the street (lets just say thats not realistic daily). What initially drew me to Salad Power was the ingredients. Sad to say I wasn’t so surprised to know that most of the juice brands we love are high in sugar and low in the vitamins they brag about having. Salad Power beats them all in every category when it comes to ingredients. They have a superfood blend of Kale, Carrot, Spinach, Celery, Cucumber, Tomato and Bell Pepper.
Now to taste. So does it taste like a Naked or Bolthouse veggie juice? No. That would be misleading you all. That also would defeat the purpose of this juice. They have 4 flavor; just veggies, V+ mango, V+ apples, and V +Pineapple. The Just veggies is way to “green” tasting for my liking. My favorite I would say is the Veggies and Apple. I felt pretty good after trying these juices out. Felt my energy go up during the day, which was a huge plus. I decided to play around with flavors to make a smoothie w/ protein powder. During the day I use it as a meal substitute. Check out my recipe below and let me know what you think!

I have this for breakfast or even lunch:
1/2 cup oatmeal (sometimes I use cooked oatmeal)
Veggies + Apple Salad Powder
1 tablespoon organic Maca powder.
1/2 cup ice
Directions: Place all in blender and blend until smooth. I like mine really cold so I add a tad more ice.
It keeps me pretty full and I love the texture oatmeal gives to a smoothie. <3 ENJOY!
