I was really looking forward to eat at S&P as soon as I realized it was open. It is located where the old Fire Fly use to be on Eastern. I live close by, so it’s definitely nice to have a place like nearby. The decor is trendy and they have a bar area, lounge, and dining section. Our service was pretty near perfect. We chose a hightop by the bar to try and get a little of the dining area + lounge in one. Sometimes I don’t like eating in “lounge” areas just because I always feel like I am bending/reaching over to eat, which annoys me. Our waitress was awesome with recommendations and checking in. I started with a Gin City cocktail, which I loved. It’s not something I could have multiples of, but i enjoyed it. I switched to Pinot Grigo after. My sister had the Rosé- which she loved AND drank all night. Ok so here’s the run down on what we ordered:
Crispy Oysters $18: Sriracha egg salad, smoked trout roe- My Favorite – that egg salad is the perfect kick to the oyster. We ordered TWO orders lol
Gravlax $16: Pumpernickel toast, farmer cheese, dill gel ( salmon)
Black Bass $24: Kalmata Olive, Rosemary vin, Charred Radicchio, nicely cooked- I think overpriced compared to the portion. I appreciated the addition of the olives, which I felt was the perfect saltiness for the fish.
Date & Blue Cheese Jam $12: Buttered Almond and Bacon Bread, my second favorite, I wanted to put this on everything I possible could. Great sweet/salty/rich texture and the crunch of the bread was perfection.
Chicken Thighs $16: pearl onion and mustard jus. This was good, didn’t blow me away. I am a fan of dark meat/thighs but compared to everything else, it felt pedestrian. The pearl onions however were delicious, I ate them all.
Salt & Pepper Fries $8: Addicting. I love me a good french fry. Seasoning was perfect and came with 3 dipping sauces; basil mayo, horseradish mustard, and smoked ketchup. Yeah they were the BOMB.
Overall I was really satisfied with our meal, the atmosphere, and the service. I did think it was a bit pricey in comparison to the portions that are given but this spot makes the perfect date night, fun place to meet up w/ friends, and happy hour in my opinion. They open at 4pm daily, one downfall I noticed was that I didn’t see a happy hour menu and I went on a Friday at 5pm. Maybe I either missed it, or they don’t have one yet. I included the link for the website below and some food porn! If you live local in Henderson, you gotta check this place out.
